The Evening Tide

The book used for this sculpture is much smaller than usual. The wonderful pattern on the inside cover provided the inspiration for a seaside scene and the aim was to show off the workmanship that had already gone into making the book. With the size already much reduced the characters are also smaller than usual, the little fisherman (8mm tall) is fishing with a paper line so fine that initially the fibres kept separating.
